My wife Tracie and I had the amazing opportunity to do the 4-day Inca Trail hike to the lost city of the Incans called Machu Picchu. This trek at its highest point is 13,776 feet high and is called “Dead Woman’s Pass”, and many people suffer from altitude sickness on this climb. Unfortunately my wife was one of those hikers, but I assured her that this pass was not named for her and that she was not going to die! She and I experienced so many life lessons during this trek, but one of the greatest was the constant awareness that we were better together. We started this hike together and we were going to finish it together!
In the Original Great Commission, man and woman were both created in God’s image, to rule and reign together (see Genesis 1:26-28). God blessed and commissioned them together! Since the beginning, however, the enemy’s plan was to weaken the power of their partnership together by keeping them divided. And since then, men and women have learned to relate to one another through control, manipulation and lust, instead of through honor, love and respect as God intended.
The Good News, though, is when Jesus came, He restored this Original Great Commission by pouring out His Spirit on sons AND daughters, on men and women (see Acts 2:17-18). Galatians 3:28-29 (TPT) says it so well, “And we no longer see each other in our former state—Jew or non-Jew, slave or free, male or female—because we’re all one through our union with Jesus Christ with no distinction between us. And since you’ve been united to Jesus the Messiah, you are now Abraham’s “child” and inherit all the promises of the kingdom realm!” There it is– when we begin to come together again and honor men and women in powerful partnerships, we will see God’s Kingdom authority released in a greater measure and we will see His promises for the earth fulfilled. We are truly better together!

Mi esposa Tracie y yo tuvimos la increíble oportunidad de hacer una caminata de 4 días por el Camino Inca a la ciudad perdida de los incas llamada Machu Picchu. Esta caminata en su punto más alto tiene 4200 metros de altura y se llama “Paso de la Mujer Muerta”, y muchas personas sufren de mal de altura en esta subida. Desafortunadamente mi esposa era uno de esos excursionistas, pero le aseguré que ella no iba a morir. Ella y yo experimentamos muchas lecciones de vida durante esta caminata, pero una de las más profundas fue la conciencia constante de que estábamos mejor juntos. ¡Comenzamos esta caminata juntos y íbamos a terminar juntos!
En la Gran Comisión Original, el hombre y la mujer fueron creados a la imagen de Dios, para gobernar y reinar juntos (véase Génesis 1: 26-28). ¡Dios los bendijo y los comisionó juntos! Sin embargo, desde el principio, el plan del enemigo era debilitar el poder de su asociación, manteniéndolos divididos. Y desde entonces, los hombres y las mujeres han aprendido a relacionarse unos con otros a través del control, la manipulación y la lujuria, en lugar de hacerlo a través del honor, el amor y el respeto que Dios pretende.
Sin embargo, la Buenas Noticias es que cuando Jesús vino, Él restauró esta Gran Comisión Original derramando Su Espíritu sobre los hijos y las hijas, sobre los hombres y las mujeres (vea Hechos 2: 17-18). Gálatas 3: 28-29 lo dice muy bien: “Y ya no nos vemos en nuestro estado anterior: judíos o no judíos, esclavos o libres, hombres o mujeres, porque todos somos uno a través de nuestra unión con Jesucristo sin distinción entre nosotros. Y desde que te uniste a Jesús el Mesías, ¡ahora eres el “hijo” de Abraham y heredas todas las promesas del reino! ” Ahí está: cuando comencemos a unirnos nuevamente y honremos a los hombres y mujeres en asociaciones poderosas, veremos la autoridad del Reino de Dios liberada en mayor medida y veremos que Sus promesas para la tierra se cumplen. ¡Estamos realmente mejor juntos!
